“Oh,
The Places You’ll Go”
Ever
since I was younger my parents would read to me “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by
Dr. Suess. Ever since then I have always tried to dream big, make it to
Hollywood, become the richest man in the world, or travel all over the world.
Although, growing up I began to realize that the goals I set for myself were
getting harder and harder to reach. I’ve been out of the country a few times, I
have never been to Hollywood or made a film big enough to be eligible to go
there, or made my millions yet. So I have decided that as a theme for my
journal I would do all the places I’ve gone and the breath taking moments I
felt while I was there. Most of my pictures are of sunsets on the beach, and the
reason behind those photo moments, is because I want people to know that no
matter where you are, Aruba, Mexico, Clearwater, or wherever. As long as you
are with people that love you, cherish you, or care for you. Those moments will
stick out more than a picture of a lighthouse or a beautiful rock sculpture. I
feel that the sunset on a beach is the perfect end to a perfect day and what
better way to embrace it than with your family. So whenever I look at the
sunset pictures I always think about the fun times with my family and loved
ones.
Other
than the sunset pictures, my pictures in my journal are of the places I would
love to visit and where I have visit. The first picture was taken in my town
during a storm in October. The reason for the upward shot of the monument is to
give the devilish effect of the building. The second picture was taken during
sunset in the Austrian castle Hohensalzburg facing the famous mountain that was
always seen in the sound of music. The third picture was taken in Clearwater,
and it is exactly what I mentioned before, about being with loved ones, and the
end to a perfect day. The fourth picture was an end to the perfect day in Aruba
with my family. If you skip down to the twelfth picture it is a picture of Bora
Bora. I chose this because I pictured a place of relaxation, happiness, and
stress relief. So I thought of Bora Bora, an island located in the middle of
the ocean, surrounded by crystal clear blue water with the greenest trees. Next
I have a picture of the Great Wall of China, its one of the Seven Wonders of
the World. The last picture I have is of a beach in Puerto Rico. This beach is
the only beach in the world with bioluminescent Algae. I would love to swim in
it at night and glow in the dark after, especially going scuba diving at night.
The
ultimate theme of my journal is “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”. After a long
thought I realize that I can go anywhere in the world, and still be unhappy. As
long as you are with friends, family, loved ones, and people who care about you
that is what makes a picture worth a thousand words. Would I love to go to the
Taj Mahal, yes! As long as I am with the people I care about, because that is
what makes a trip so memorable. As my mom told me, “If you dare to dream. Dream
your wildest dreams. You can climb the highest mountain. You can dive to the
deepest parts in the sea. And if somebody tells you that you can’t do
something, you say yes, yes, I can. Because I m doing it right now.”
